Used EV options from 2021–2023: a range-ranked look (October 2026)

Shopping for a used EV usually starts with one question: how far will it go on a charge? We searched EVpedia for every trim from model years 2021 to 2023, three to five years old this fall, and sorted them by rated range, longest first.

One important caveat before the numbers: the price column below is the original list price (MSRP) on file, not what a used one sells for today. Used prices depend on mileage, condition, battery health and the local market. Treat MSRP as a way to compare what each model cost new.

The search returned 300 trims. The top of the list is dominated by the Lucid Air, which holds the first eleven places. The longest-range entry, the 2022 Air Dream R AWD, lists 837 km (EPA) at an original $219,000. After the Air come the 2023 Rivian R1T at 661 km (EPA) and, among other makes, the 2021 Tesla Model S Long Range at 652 km (EPA).

Most shoppers will care more about the cheaper end, so we ran a second search with the same model years and an original MSRP of $50,000 or less. It returned 42 trims. The table keeps one row per model, using the longest-range trim in the results.

VehicleOriginal MSRP (CAD)RangeStandard
2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro$49,995443 kmEPA
2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV$38,943417 kmNRCan
2023 Hyundai Kona Electric Preferred$45,749415 kmNRCan
2023 Kia Niro EV$44,995407 kmNRCan
2023 Toyota bZ4X FWD$44,990406 kmNRCan
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV$40,548397 kmNRCan

Reading the table

The top of the longer list is all above 600 km, but the six models here are all within about 50 km of each other. That is close enough that the rating standard matters. EPA and NRCan use different test methods, so the ID.4's 443 km (EPA) is not a like-for-like lead over the Bolt EV's 417 km (NRCan).

Range also falls with age. Rated range describes a new battery. A three-to-five-year-old pack may deliver less, and cold Canadian winters reduce it further, so the figure is a starting point, not a promise.

Finally, not every trim has a price on file. Several Lucid rows carry no MSRP, and those drop out of any price-capped search. For the full set, browse the vehicle list on EVpedia and open each trim's page for its specs, warranty details and rating standard.
